How to Read a Week

This is the written companion to the first in Sires' weekly lecture series, a recap of the NQ auction for the week of the 14th to the 18th. Instead of calling the next week, it reads the last one back: where the established balance was, how the new week opening gap filled, why the auction failed near the highs and dropped into discovery, and how the order flow gave the low away when a wall of strong sellers hit the bid and got absorbed with nothing to show for it. The frame is kept honest throughout, that this is a recap for learning and that auction theory describes who is dominant rather than predicting where price goes.

From there it walks the rest of the structure the same way a live session would: how low volume nodes act like unfinished business that price returns to fill, why a volume profile without the candlesticks will fool you into calling a run of swings a balance, and why value has to actually shift before a draw is worth trading toward. It closes on the practical part, how to take a weekly recap into your own data collection so structure comes first and the draw comes second, and the exact trade, hunting longs at the lows before value had shifted, that the recap shows you should never have taken.
