The Max Payout Trade
This is the written companion to Sires' breakdown of a single trade: a one-contract NQ short on 28 September that he trailed to roughly $4,000, which on a Lucid Flex account is exactly a $2,000 max payout. It starts where the trade actually started, in the pre-market thesis he posts every day, written at 9:08 in New York. That thesis said the market was seeking balance rather than sitting in it, which in his own data is the kind of day he makes money on, and it laid out the two things price could do next, both drawn on the chart before the bell. The trade he took was the first of them, a higher R short back into balance.
From there it follows the read down the timeframes. On the higher timeframe: sellers absorbed at the lows, an established balance that rejected price, and why he used old reactions as his target when volume was too thin to trust. On the 40 range: the micro balance where buyers piled in and got trapped, the refill where they were absorbed for no result, and the moment sellers came back in, closed below and tested. It covers why shorting into absorbed sellers made sense inside a staircase, how he got out, the two habits that cost beginners on trades like this, and how he trails instead. The whole read is on two schematics, one for the higher timeframe and one for the entry model, and both are free to download below.
