3 Volume Profile Mistakes

This is the written companion to Saint's video on the three biggest volume profile mistakes beginners make. The first is using the value area high, low and point of control as levels from any profile. They only work on a balanced, bell-curve profile, or on two or more merged profiles that built value in the same place. On a skewed or developing profile they get you stopped out again and again, and the POC is a place price chops around, not an entry or a target.

The second is expecting the volume profile to give you the top and bottom tick on its own. Saint shows the confirmation that has to come with it, absorption and then aggression the other way on Deep Trades, the DOM, the footprint or the delta, on live trades from an evaluation-passing day. The third is limiting yourself to fixed composites. When price trends, the daily profile scatters value everywhere, and anchoring a profile on each small auction gives you clean levels for the breakout and retest. It closes with a printable checklist.
